A Week on Tybee Island

I have wanted to visit Savannah for years, so we booked this year’s beach trip to Tybee Island. Since Savannah is only 20 minutes away, we killed two birds with one stone!

Tybee Island was like stepping back into the 1950’s. The only chain restaurant on the island is Arby’s and everything else is local. We loved it! The island is very laid-back, small and not crowded. None of the restaurants are fancy, but it’s some of the best seafood we’ve ever had!

If we were on the beach, Lily was jumping in the waves and Carson was digging a hole. However, their favorite part was the rooftop pool. We have a pool at home, drove 7 hours to the beach and they love the dang pool. Kids!

Lily loved jumping over the waves and spent most of the time in the water. My arms were burning after lifting her up and down for 10 minutes, but she had a blast! Okay, more like two minutes if I’m being honest.

Carson was so much fun this year! He rolled his dump truck up and down to the waves for hours.

I would also like to point out that Nick and Mom laughed about my pale skin and I was the only one that didn’t have to wear a shirt to the beach to cover up a sunburn! Karma rules.
